Customizing AutoCAD
Customizing AutoCAD is a great way to efficiently draft quality work. How many times have you found yourself doing the same task over and over? or How many times have you had a renegade drafter refuse to draft to your standards? These are just a few reasons to customize AutoCAD. Some typical ways to customize your AutoCAD are using Menus, Tool Bars, Tool Palettes, and a variety of programming languages. One easy and very powerful programming language is LISP including AutoLISP and Visual Lisp. Another language is Visual Basic and VBA. To program with VB you will need another software called Visual Studio which you pay for or you can try a slimmer version Visual Studio Express Edition. To get started with VB I recommend starting with VBA because it already comes with AutoCAD.
